ANYONE
wishing to immerse hemselves in French whilst improving their language skills – this can be as a “one-off” or as part of an on-going training programme including online lessons either before or after the immersion course. The personalised nature of these immersion courses means your particular needs can almost certainly be catered for, be they for pleasure or professional purposes.
WHAT
exactly are immersion courses?
These are residential courses, whereby you stay with us in our French home in Corseul, (a little village just outside of Dinan.) They are typically for anyone wishing to fully immerse themselves in a French environment whilst following a French language course.
If you happen to live nearby or have alternative accommodation, I am very happy to offer you just lessons – either intensively or more leisurely depending on your particular situation and preference.
HOW
do they work?
There are many different options depending on your personal situation, your age, your interests and your priorities, but you will generally follow a structured programme, based on your level, needs and requirements, with your own private – and very tranquil – accommodation just next door.
Lessons are generally from 9 till 12.30 in the morning, and then in the afternoon learning is reinforced through a variety of resources e.g. online exercises and grammar / vocabulary games, books, French TV / DVDs, board games. You will also be able to play table-tennis, darts or table football (all in French of course), and relax in either the sunny conservatory or the cosy living room with its blazing log-burner, according to the season.
Whilst you are welcome to share meals with us, your accommodation has the added benefit of being self-contained in the little gite beside our house, which can easily accommodate two (with the possibility of an extra guest on the sofa bed) if you wish to share the experience with a partner and / or friends.
After lessons you will continue to practise your linguistic skills through various activities / outings. You will also have the opportunity to visit some of the many tourist sites in this beautiful part of Brittany.
During the week, you will have the opportunity to prepare for a presentation to be given on your last day, which will demonstrate all that you have learnt. This can (with your permission) be videoed along with other key moments during your stay, so that you will have a lasting memory of your stay.
